Don't you work for a company that requires an annual road test?

Sure do. But I'll take a bother once a year (that I get paid for) over stress every day.. There's also quarterly computer training that also gets paid for. A 15 minute video that I get $10 for.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, but holy crap is there so many things to worry about. I have macros but they're all related to breakdowns or problems with the load (like overweight or shifted). Not a macro for backing and a macro for detention pay and a worry that if I'm not nice to my dbl I'll make nothing and or get fired...

Meh, whatever. People seem happy there. I think.

I live in northern California. There was always a load going to Salt Lake City when I came out of hometime, 7xx miles and they always planned it with 2 10 hour breaks to get there, every friggen time. I would break it off with one 10 hour break and deliver. Send all my arrival and empty macros and split, then the qualcomm would blow up about not being able to deliver early and it was scheduled as a live unload at the proper appointment time etc. Plus this place never gave away empty trailers. Did I mention they never do live unloads, even if they did they wouldn't let me take the trailer out the gate.

Even in a slow truck 750 miles should be done in less than 24 hours otherwise it's a wasteing of driver's time and I would be demanding layover pay if told to just sit for 10 hours or so.

What speed do the dispatch times take into account? Are swift drivers dispatched at 50mph?

Yes. That's because their trucks only do 50 mph.

I'm headed to orientation for Swift on Sunday. I'm hoping it's better than Western Express.

Western is above the national average for vehicle maintenance issues.
