That's normal for CAnada I know a few guys that stopped going due to deadheading out and the wait at the border.
I guess it's all in your dispatcher because they never keep me waiting for a load. Yesterday I dead headed from Santa Rosa without a load but 10mins I had a load

I've had three times waiting on a load. Twice for about 4 hours when I unloaded at 0'dark 30, the other was all day in Dallas, where there just wasn't even a decent brokered load to be had.
You get paid to deadhead. I refuse to move unless I have a dispatch unless I have enough faith in dispatch to know it will work out. With the current crew, it always has and I've had dispatch and thus pay all the way. Sititting really stinks, but it's gonna happen. Sounds like it happened to you Ruger, more than it had any business doing. Were you on green fleet with E and J dispatching? -
This was after I was off that fleet. I was the first guy to start pulling a conestoga hauling aluminum out of city of Commerce for Kaiser up north. It was great at first and I was home every weekend and it didn't count against my hometime. plus I never had to tarp but eventually it got to the point of sitting really long periods of time. Another time I sat in Chehalis at the Loves for 24 hours waiting for a reload south.

Try unloading early AM in Plaster City and having a preplan for W. LA that delivers the next afternoon... All this when I was supposed to be home the previous week. Can't spit without hitting a System OO in Plaster City.
I know sht happens, but that was as close to quitting as I've come so far. Been rainbows and unicorns since then though.Sneakerfix Thanks this. -

OO get treated well at System. They even posted a couple vids on System facebook page. They didn't find company driver to do a vid yet lol.
Its only thing that pretty much keeps me here, wanting to become OO, just saving up for my own truck.
Talk about OO's, every time Im in Bloomington yard theres half a dozen OO trucks in there I havent seen beforefargonaz Thanks this. -

If you want to pay for a truck thats not yours and by the time its paid off (if you ever pay it off) it needs engine overhaul, etc. then lease is a great idea.

Yeah, but how much did he pay extra for that truck? 15-20K at 18%, unless they've lowered their interest rate, which I doubt.
