Murphy should always be remembered, but never be in charge.

    Update

The holdup now is that the warranty company is insisting I pay for the entire shop ticket that is not their responsibility before they will pay. Since I went with a full rebuild rather than simple repairs, there's a lot of stuff on that ticket that they have absolutely nothing to do with.

Right now, the pricing on the invoice is not Crete account pricing, it's independent pricing. It's pretty clear that the warranty company expects me to use Crete to get better pricing for the entire invoice, at which point they will renege on their offer and lowball even farther (which they have a right to do if we present them with a new invoice.).

However, TruNorth is not me, and they are not Crete. They are not entitled to Crete's pricing.

I am looking at a couple legal, ethical options to deny TruNorth savings they do not deserve. Both methods will mean extra effort for Freightliner though, so I am not hopeful.

In the end, if it isn't possible for me to get Crete's discount on the work, while denying it to TruNorth, then I'll see how much money TruNorth might save, and if it is more than 1/10th of what I will save, then I will pay more just to spit in TruNorth's eye and deny them any savings. I can afford it at this price.

A bit vindictive? You bet. It might end up being the most expensive middle finger I've ever given someone, but TruNorth deserves it.

Does Trunorth know you did the full rebuild?

Why didn't you get two invoices?

I tried to have Freightliner split the job between the required repairs and the optional rebuild, but they wouldn't do it.

I think you would both agree that one should not believe everything you hear from folks in internet forums. I needed to hear from Landstar directly why they required hazmat if drivers would not be required to haul it. They provided a rational answer, so they are once again a possible place to move to in the future.
