I don't see how you can tax write off a receipt in 2020 that's dated 2019.

And there's still 10 months left in the year to assume what might happen.

An overhaul can be treated differently than say a tire(s) or any other consumable. I believe the tax law was changed on that a few years back. I could be wrong though.

    It's pretty simple:

The service invoice was dated in 2019. The actual payment was sent in 2020.

The government doesn't care when the work was done. They care when the money changed hands. Perhaps this wasn't always the case, but apparently it's the case now.

    Update.

Crete Owner Op division sent a request to the Marietta shop to have them check computer codes.

Unfortunately, nobody is in the shop today who has access to the software in the code reader that deals with idle options.

So, if I wait for Crete to do it, I wait until Monday, the next work day for that fellow.

Freightliner Austell, will try to work me in today, since it might have been their error, but the service writer won't make a commitment. Will probably need to talk to the shop foreman or team lead to have it done before the end of today, or it will sit until Monday there too.

Must be nice to be a mechanic and work banker's hours.

    Update,

Freightliner Austell immediately took the truck into the shop to check computer settings. The tech that did the work did change the settings in order to test his work.

Well, I happened to notice I hit the 150k mile mark after I bought the truck today.

Since I have heard that drive tires lifetime is around 150k miles, I took a close look to be sure I wasn't missing any issues.

Tread depth ranges from about 11/32 to 15/32.

The only odd wear I have is a bit of uneven heel-toe wear on the innermost tread pattern line on my RRO drive, but only on about 1/3 of the tire diameter. I first noticed this odd wear several months ago and have been watching it, and it has not gotten worse. In fact the tire seems to be wearing back into round.

That's a head scratcher for sure. The only thing I can think of is that it's a factory defect where some of the tread material was a little weaker than the rest.

Good on highway drive tires in a legal OTR application should go to 275-400k depending on how heavy you usually are.

I don’t know your total mileage on Truck, but the wear could be from a worn spring hanger bushing. Usually first shows up on RR Drive. And irregular tire wear on the inside of inside dual. Not a big deal, something to keep an eye on, if so, and get repaired before it’s completely deteriorated. Usually a visual inspection, can tell, if the bushings bad. Meanwhile, rotate the tires. Steers,100-140k , Drives 2 or 3xs that.

Spring hanger bushing? Hrm. Will look at those. Pretty sure they haven't ever been touched. Certain I have never inspected them closely. To be clear, you are referring to the bushings that are at either/both ends of the leaf spring assembly, keeping the spring and the posts supporting it from rubbing?
