Just watch your tires, they’ll let you know when it’s time. Also I agree with @Tug Toy any time you have a wheel end jacked up use a bar to see if you can see/feel any play.

I do it myself. No seal required to check and adjust, just some labor. The trick is to find someone that actually knows what they are doing.

    That’s the hard part.

Especially considering most shops don't even have a dial indicator. And I bet 99% of "techs" have never used one.

Well, finished a 34, picked up a new empty, got it washed, fueled, then pulled off the field lane, hit an enormous speedbump, and immediately lost integrity on the air system of the passenger side drive axle brakes.

I don't see any obvious damage, and the leak is pretty well muffled, so I am pretty sure I lost a brake chamber. I did not crawl underneath to look, since there is a Boss shop here. The truck can keep the brakes disengaged only at high RPM 1400+. I am already in a bay. We shall see what 'fun' I get to pay for today.

    Rugerfan and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Boss shop, Flying J, South Dallas, TX here.

I never have much liked this truck stop. Really poorly laid out, even for an old Flying J. The Boss shop is independent of the truck stop though. Hopefully this will be over and done with quickly.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Update. Parts were in stock. Estimate a bit less than $400, parts and labor. Got two techs on it now, one clearly teaching the other best practices for replacement. Marking air lines, etc.

    jsnell and Rideandrepair Thank this.
