Got the first-tier Schneider callback this morning. Basically they just checked to see if what I put on the application was accurate.
Tomorrow I should get a call from another Schneider Owner Operator recruiter after they run data on me.
I have a list of questions for them...
1. Load board access cost?
2. Trailer fleet access cost?
3. Fuel discounts where? Terminal fuel access? Shop/tire discounts where?
4. Can I have Schneider shops do work on my truck? If so, how can I pay for it? Do I have to set aside a maintenance account, or can I pay directly at or after time of service?
5. Workman comp offered? Per month?
6. Company health insurance offered? Per week cost?
7. Life insurance offered? Cost for 100k coverage Per month?
8. Dental offered? Per month?
9. Critical Care offered? Per month?
10. Vision insurance offered? Per month?
11. Communication Gizmo / ELD per month?
12. Communication Gizmo / insurance per month?
13. Truck collision insurance offered? Per month?
14. Bobtail insurance offered? Per month?
15. Cargo insurance offered? Per month?
16. Accident insurance offered? Per month?
17. Do I get 100% of FSC?
18. Do I see the full value of the load and FSC on the load board, or my % only? (Do I get paid what I see?)
19. Detention?
20. Layover?
21. How am I compensated when I lose driving time when I have to take a damaged trailer to be repaired?
22. Settlements weekly, based on when bills are turned in?
23. Transflo app to turn in bills?
Anyone think of anything else I should be asking?
Taking the plunge. My journey as an O/O.

Update.
Still stuck at the house due to shop shenanigans. They say all the work is done but trying to get information out of them about the troubleshooting they did to find the electronics issue has been more than a little painful. I am not a happy camper, and will be picking up the truck today, regardless of what happens.
Update 2. I have had my second phone conversation with the Schneider o/o recruiting team, and am currently receiving a whole bunch of emails including an onboarding letter. Barring something very strange happening, I will be transferring from Crete o/o to Schneider o/o soon. I will submit my two week notice to Crete after I make sure I can finish completing and returning all this Schneider paperwork. -
Ok, looking through the information from Schneider, they say that OOIDA offers a decent health insurance package.
((Schneider o/o's cannot buy into the company health plan like Crete o/o's can.))
Anyone here have anything to say about the OOIDA health plans? Coverage? Costs? Complaints? Kudos? -
I buy on the open market…….. Ooida doesn’t cover my state with health insurance
dwells40 and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
Update.
Drove the truck 3 miles from the shop to the nearest truck stop. Tier 1 engine code popped up and has been on since.
Engine Control Module error SPN 5444 FMI 1
Tomorrow AM when I inspect, will look at the ECM connections to see if there's something loose there.Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
