The idea of baking the units yourself isn't out of the question. It really is not hard to build your own kiln. Hell, buying a kiln might be worth it if you have several trucks.

The problem is knowing the proper process. There are likely chemicals used as catalysts. Acids, bases, detergents, whatever.

The major hoops to jump through here would be:

    1. You would have to build or buy a kiln with good temperature control.

    2. You would have to learn the proper cleaning steps, and follow them. There might be several chemical treatments, and each one might require <x> time at <y> temperature.

And, finally, some of the chemicals used might be hazardous, which would complicate everything.

That said, if you had the time and money, and a willingness to spend both, it is very possible that you could develop a cleaning process that is much simpler, but less effective.

If you figure out a process to clean DEF filters ALMOST as well as the standard process, and it can be done at a lower cost and/or with fewer steps and complications, leading to filters with almost as much re-use life, you might be onto a real money maker.

I wonder if you ran the truck real hard and then pulled into a car wash and sprayed water up the exhaust pipe?

If you try it, please set up a camera to record the event. I suspect it will be... interesting.

I strongly suggest you wear a great deal of cotton clothing under full body MOP gear.

With all due respect...You cheap ##### LMAO. I know rates are bad but come on! What happens when you don’t get it put back together air tight and you get fault codes for that?

How many times have any of you actually paid to get a DPF cleaning? I’ve owned lots of trucks and maybe twice I’ve had it done. Normally it all works great or the whole thing ####s the bed and must be replaced.

I had one done on this truck at 300k miles. That is Crete Carrier fleet policy. Crete runs opti-idle trucks though, instead of APU's

Well, in the middle of my 34, the AC just crapped out. No warning, the AC simply stopped working. No loud bangs or screeching though. I am hoping that the refrigerant level just slowly leaked down to a point where it can't maintain cooling.

The TA I am at does AC service, but no AC tech until tomorrow AM.

Is the blower still blowing air and it's just hot or nothing is happening at all?

Bought an AC refill bottle with a low pressure side pressure gauge. Blower is working. Low pressure side is too high pressure. Compressor clutch is not activating.

Put the bottle of refrigerant away. It won't do me any good.

Figure either the compressor clutch is crapped out, or whatever sends the activation signal is crapped out.

You could unplug it and check it with a test light.power at the plug clutch crapped out. No power at the plug could be low freon in the system, bad pressure switch, blown fuse, relay, wiring issue, bad head control unit.i normaly jump the pressure switch and see of the clutch kicks on then you know the clutch is good the wireing is good fuse is good
