Starter and alternator were both replaced while the truck was a company truck.

We shall see what decides to surprise me next.

Is there another term for the EGR cooling system? I do not remember having that replaced.

However, Crete hasn't given me any trouble about my calling shops and asking them to look at service history for specific service items.

I meant....does Crete let you see their copy...of the service history..of the truck before you buy it....showing all the repairs done on the truck...

I do not know. I drove the truck for 250k miles before I bought it, so I did not ask to see the full history. It was a solid-running truck when I drove it as a company driver.

I was not really expecting the level of deferred maintenance I ran into though.

All warrantee work is reported to Freightliner and Freightliner tracks that, I know. Whether it was Crete or a truck stop doing warrantee work, if Freightliner covered the cost, it was recorded in the Freightliner maintenance history.

I just called the owner op support team, and they advised that they can definitely provide 24 months of maint. history. I asked them to see if they can get the full history, and they will get back to me.

When I started driving the truck, it had 197k miles. When I bought it, it had 443k miles. It now has 504k miles.

I have been told that the truck maintenance record I can acquire from Crete is 24 months, and only includes service values at over 500 dollars.

Another reason for me to tell other people to never buy a Crete truck unless you have been the operator long enough to have a good feeling about the truck's reliability.

There is absolutely no possible justification for me not being allowed to see the full maintenance history of the truck, all service, regardless of the cost.

That's absurd for them to charge $500 for maintenance records. If a truck was taken care of and serviced properly with records of it you would think the seller would be showing them proudly free of charge just to help with the sale of the truck...

    I could be wrong.

But it sounds to me they only keep record of maint. That cost over $500

Not charging him $500 for said history.

    Farmerbob1 and JonJon78 Thank this.
