DMV test's for each endorsement are right here. Tanker is good to have and last the life of the license. Hazmat renews every 2 years i believe.
Pass on Hazmat...too much bs.

Drivers pulling dry vans and reefers also need tanker endorsement for some loads such as liquid totes.

HazMat is also a multiple choice on the computer at the driver license office and you can study for it at TruckerCountry.com. But you have to have give fingerprints and get a TSA background check, which costs $86. The state charges a $20-50 fee also. So for HazMat you may have to make 2 trips to the DMV to complete everything. You give fingerprints at a different location than the DMV for most states. It can take a couple of weeks for your TSA background check to be completed and you get an email. Some states let you takes the computer test before you get your TSA background check complete. Follow your state's process. Once you have a HazMat on your CDL you can't just let it lapse if you want to give it up. You have to physically go to your DMV and swap your CDL with HazMat for a CDL without HazMat. If you just let it run out, they will downgrade your CDL to passenger car DL. Your state has a state CDL manual and is has some HazMat questions in it. Between the state manual and TruckerCountry.com you can easily pass the test.Lav-25 Thanks this. -
Here is how I study and pass any of the endorsement tests using TruckerCountry.com. IMO, every CDL driver ought to get the tanker endorsement.
