I was driving in the same stuff up here in Michigan and Indiana yesterday. Never heard a peep on my CB. Thankfully, nothing happened, but if it did, I could imagine seeing the same up here.

Am I scared to drive in snow and ice? Nope, but I know in the south, 99% of people in four wheelers aren’t trained for it since it rarely happens. Combine that will no snow plows and an occasional salt truck, I will tell my dispatch to send me somewhere else every time.

I agree people in the south and the attitude "God put in on the ground and God will get it off the ground" in the south makes for nerve wracking driving. I live here( in the south) and I don't drive in snow here in my car here because of the idiots. I've been in the worst weather in Canada and other northern states and had no problems because the drivers are more experienced and the states have the equipment to clear the roads.

traffic following too close is why so many involved, no other reason. Keep your distance so you can deal with sudden stops and slowdowns...just common sense.

It’s not a regional thing. I drive to Fargo, up from Texas, every single week. As soon as I-29 ices over between Sioux Falls and Fargo, cars and trucks in the ditch....every single mile every single time.

There’s FAR less traffic on that highway than I-40. Basically what I’m saying is that anybody that says a whole region of people are expert ice drivers, they are bluffing. People leave the cruise set until their sideways......

ladr, Opus, Steel Dragon and 4 others Thank this.
