No opinion on the whole saga, other than if the people in the office are that much on edge in dealing with long term employees, there's something going on behind the scenes, like serious financial problems, loss of a major customer, etc. Someone in that office has gotten a serious talking-to recently and isn't handling it professionally.

This is going to end up being a blessing in disguise.

It's a truck job. Some are good some not so much. You're better off getting away from that hot mess. One door closes another one opens. Good luck.

Many drivers make the Nice Guy Mistake. They want the employer to like them, so they start volunteering info and don’t know when to shut up. In doing so, they show their cards.

If you are looking for a driver, you want a professional. A professional comes there to get business done and go home. The guy that doesn’t know when to shut up is not professional. You have the look. Bare minimum words means that you’re not trying to get them to like you or win them over. You know your worth. You have options. All business. They will definitely want you in their truck.

Keep us updated. Six back quiet.

There is always the potential of the carrier's safety personnel know quite a few of other local safety persons, especially in a niche market like tanking, and will pick up the phone.

This could also be discovered if applying thru Tenstreet's digital black hole.

OP is smart to want to know how to work with a termination.

Other than a person to person conversation [if the carrier is lowlife], it will end up simply as a termination at one of the carriers in your career.

Short term do follow the advise given above, short and simple:

"I questioned my dispatcher's adding a pickup that would guarantee a service failure of my scheduled day and two days later I was terminated.

OP appears to be the sort of individual that would still be in consideration as the length of their driving history and clean record would cause any interested safety person to ask what happened.

I know I would have already checked the MVR and would have picked up the phone.....

Get hired and a in a year or so this will just be a bump in the road.

I’ve been out here long enough and worked for enough companies to know that the office personnel on most days have to deal with an upset driver, an angry driver, a disgruntled driver, a driver that continues to run their mouth and complains, a driver that is never happy. You seem like you’re none of the above. To me this reeks of something personal. Because drivers just do not get fired for things of a nature of what you describe, especially proven drivers and good drivers with good records and a good work ethic, which you seem to have. In fact, it’s hard for companies to find drivers like that. And it’s getting harder every day. You challenged someone’s “ego” and got canned for it. Doesn’t seem fair, but just like you’re driving career, you seemed to have handled it in the best way possible and that’s by moving on and moving forward.
    Good luck to you!

They closed my terminal and moved it to another big city, I didn’t want to move.

You see it the same way as everyone I have spoken to. This terminal manager reeks of ego. In 3 years, I never had even a casual, friendly conversation with the guy. I think he ultimately did me a favor.
