So you did a tug test before you went and looked with a flashlight? Or looked with a flashlight and saw the defect and then did a tug test anyhow?

One thing that will get you even fired from Schneider, dropping trailer, or high hook.
You best bet is use a flashlight, even if it’s off of phone.

A friend was fired by Ryder for cell phone use...

The inward facing Camara caught him... but wait.... it was their company cell that they run the elog on and the video showed him set it back in the holder BEFORE he started driving...!

    He quit 2 weeks later

I’ll admit to it, but the trailer hit the frame and I corrected it myself. No harm no foul as far as I’m concerned.

A little tip from the old school,,,,
When you return to your truck and before you get in to leave, always take a look at the fifth wheel latch handle. Make sure it hasn’t been pulled.
A old gimmick to get you to drop your trailer.

Coupled, tugged, visual inspection - in that order Passed the tug, failed the visual.

That kind of dirty pool warrants an ### kicking, IMHO.

So he quit 2 weeks after being fired?

    That is a neat trick.
