One time I breaked at a terminal. Woke up and went into the offices about 7:00AM. I did my usual morning pee, grabbed a few extra log books and got out to the truck and the cell rang. Need to do a random while there at there terminal.

After just peeing, I knew there would be a problem, so I drank a lot of water, inside of about 45 minutes, trying to force a pee so I could get going to make my appt. later that afternoon. Well, I managed to get the bottle filled then headed out, but had to stop a few hours later at a busy off/on ramp to pee because I simply could not hold it any longer, then had to pee real bad again another hour or so. These bouts came on quick trying to process probably close to a gallon of water.

I can go all day somedays without peeing if I need to but that was a miserable morning for me.

When my wife had her job as manager of the local gas station at home, she would get people that would go take the test and the results would come back diluted. As in too much water. Several of those individuals that had results come back like that said that they had drank a lot of water just prior to going for the test. With her company, a diluted result was as bad as a hot result. Curious if a diluted result in a trucking job would yield the same results.

 

I had known about "diluted samples" and such and I explained to them my situation that I had just did my usual wake up pee not 3 minutes ago, and they said no problem, just do what you have to do to get us a sample and get going ... ok
