Hey, it happens to us all. I sat for 4 hrs in Augusta, Ga last week for an Empty. I know you don't want to hear this, but you have to take the good with the bad. I know it's screwing up you revenue for the week. Let it go!!! You will feel better

You can't just go willy nilly looking for emptys, just because they have emptys doesn't give u the right to snag one. Finding emptys at end of quarters is pia customers love to store products on them to make there books look good. Lately I'm happy with live unloads or pu that way no need to deal with empty deal.

 

Same problem over here in intermodal side. Trying a find mts can be a pain and sometimes I loss 4 hours just looking. I hate when I'm suppose to drop and hook and the customer don't have any mts for me

 

Part of the problem is trailer imbalance. On Wednesday I had to go three places to find someplace to dump my my. The first two places both had five more emptys than plan and wanted to get rid of some.

Back when we still put trailers on rail cars when one market had way too many and another was screaming for more trailers SNI would have the railyard load up a train full of mt trailers to solve the imbalance.

 

If a customer has an empty, and would let me take it, consider it taken, I don't have time, nor paid enough to sit around and wait for the planners to figure out what they want to do, times money right? I grab it and call em or send a message of which on I got.

 

If in Augusta good to kc in beech island, they should have sni empties.

 

And when they tell u to return it then what?
