Made my delivery at the Lowes DC in Garysburg NC tonight then bobtailed home. Gonna try to put my new sensors on the truck tomorrow and I need to grease the 5th wheel as well, then hopefully find a load heading out on Saturday. Gonna try to run until the 20th then take some time off for Christmas and New Years.

Hey DFO, been reading all night and morning about your trip from company to o/o. Good job man. I always wanted to be an o/o. I just got hired for SNI intermodal up in chicago. I'll be driving out to greenbay, WI in a few days.

Today I replaced the one sensor that I had with me, didn't have a chance to go out to Greensboro to pick up the other one yet. Next time. I also replaced all 4 of my batteries. The old batteries were in rough shape and I'm pretty sure one was almost completely gone. The APU has been running a LOT to keep them charged (for example, the day before yesterday I pulled up to the fuel island, shut the truck off, and the APU engine instantly started trying to bring the batteries back up to full charge). The starter has been dragging a bit too, it was definitely time. One was missing a cap and they were all REALLY old. I looked around and NAPA and CarQuest but in the end I went to Batteries Plus in Durham, NC and got 4 new batteries for the price that was only 2/3 of what CarQuest wanted. And thats not including the $100 core charge I'll get back when I take back the old batteries ($25/battery). I really like this place and have used them before, I just didn't really think of them as carrying heavy-duty batteries at first.
Truck starts much better now and I'll be much more comfortable I won't have problems getting started up in the cold weather. Which is exactly where I'm headed.
Found a nice load from a familiar customer out of NC back up to Ohio, then another light load back down to NC again. Went ahead and booked those two. Of course the weather looks bad. But, we'll see how it turns out. The part I'm really worried about is US-35, I really hope they keep that clear.

where at in Ohio?
Here in and around columbus , they are talking about 1-2 inches in the morning , changing to rain/snow mix. Total accumulation expected to be 2-4 in. Can update here in the morning. Likely up early early.

Looks good DFO. Have you or anyone else notice how sorry theses drive tires are? Any little bit of water on the road or rain and they do nothing but spin. What are we going to do when its ice and snow on the roads? Other trucking company's use a aggressive tire tread pattern

mclass555 Thanks this.

Tread is about saving fuel. Aggressive tread is fuel efficient

DFO, your apu will start up immediatley upon truck shut down if the coolant in the apu gets below a certain tempature. On really cold days every time I turn the truck off the apu will fire up and run for a few minutes until it warms the coolant up.
Grijon Thanks this.
