Well, Howdy folks....home for five days now, so I'd figure I'd update...
March has been far better than February...for the most part! Light loads, decent rates...haven't had to scale a load since the first week of the month. There was one bump in the road, though....I had to get two new steer tires at 19,480 miles. Started noticing a vibration, like a tire was out of balance. Called PACCAR (the first time I've called them, and based upon the rep I spoke with, I hope the last time...pretty clueless). Petro in Kenly, NC put them on the balance machine...one needed 16, and the other 20! Upon closer inspection, they found the beginnings of a lump on the inner sidewall of the driver's side steer. The other one had then started cupping. Still waiting for the final official word on things, but I believe warranty will cover most of it. $70 bucks for the balance check. Right at 25k now, and things are shake-free.
Overall, a pretty good month as I said. Still not working all that hard. Stayed out over three weeks this time without a 34. Couple of other minor issues....namely my IdleFree system is acting strangely. That just started a night or two ago, and I'll tackle that when I get back or, more likely, at my 30k servicing. The other is my ATBS rep. I'm going to ask for a different one. This guy is nice enough, but I feel like I'm in high school when I ask him a question. "Check your e-mail"...."read the book"....and when discussing my P&L, please do not use the term "smiley faces" when dealing with pluses and minuses. I'm 54, not 14. I'm just not impressed with this guy and would like to get settled with someone before my six month free trial is up (about 3 months from now).
I haven't even been checking in of late, so I wish you all continued success and safe miles.

Best of luck with a warranty claim on tires.......
warranty pending is code for owner takes the loss. -
Packard......good to hear you're doing well. A couple of things you might want to consider......
1. An alignment would be money well spent. We assume the trucks are aligned and tires balanced when we get them, but that is not always the case. If you get down to GA, there's a shop behind the TA and next to the Blue Beacon in Jackson at the 201 on 75 south. The guy did my truck and said if I come back, and it didn't need to be wrenched on, he wouldn't charge me a thing. Nice folks there......(also, the truck wash in the next lot over, behind Loves does an awesome job.....oh, also, the little shack restaurant in front of the alignment shop has awesome cheeseburgers).
2. I would start looking now for another accounting firm; while you're still on your 6 month free service with ATBS. That is the sorriest outfit I've ever dealt with, and I think most people have had the same experience. I really don't think anyone really needs their 'consulting'......here's the deal, run as hard as you can or want to, think about what you do before you do it, and don't book loads when you're drunk, and you'll be fine.
Good luck!!Kersey, 48Packard and skyviper73 Thank this. -
