Sounds like a total communications breakdown, followed by an unwillingness to give a little on Sleepy's end. Imagine if you were the team driver. Gotta pick your battles like others have said....
The BS level of this career is unbelievable!

As others said, you made the situation worse, OP. Pick your battles. You could have went on duty, dropped the trailer and been back in bed in 5 minutes.
Instead you make an ### out of yourself, screw a fellow company driver, wasted the police officers time, and create all kinds of drama... then you couldn’t sleep anyways, drove on 2 hrs sleep and endangered the rest of us too.....tinytim, wore out, Nateman482 and 8 others Thank this. -

It has been mentioned that the dispatcher dropped the ball, HOW do we know that by what he has said.
It has been said there was no communication, there wasn't but there was effort,
by the dispatcher, driver chose not to communicate.
How do we know that the dispatcher did not call as soon as they found a suitable truck and get it on the way to repower the load., so again, the dispatcher may have had a bad situation thrown in his lap and done the best he could to remedy it, just to have a driver not answer his phone.
Driver makes the team wait till his 10 hours is up to unhook trailer, wtf, why not let the other driver move his truck if sleep is so important at this point?
We only have one side of the story BUT this time it redeems the company. This could be the sorriest company in the world, but from the op's side the company did everything possible to make a bad situation workable.
I ask any of you, if it was your company or you were the dispatcher, what would you have done different?D.Tibbitt, Still undecided, FlaSwampRat and 2 others Thank this. -

The thing is people in this industry are so intuned to doing what the dispatcher whatever you want to call them tells you to do and do it take it like a good dog and you should be grateful yet when you have an issue sorry I can't help you get there some other bs these dispatchers will say.
Well unlike some drivers I put the line there I tell people up front they cross it I have no problems looking for another job I have my own savings account thank god too, I will work the #### out myself rather welder, driver, plumber the issue is IDC who my driver manager or dispatcher whatever case you tell me where to go I go simple if you give me a late load guess what it's gonna arrive on time to be late if it on time it's gonna be on time be there.
If you expect me work beyond my hours when I had enough you for the day they can kiss it where the sun don't shine I have told many bosses this and I have plenty jobs will hire me in a heartbeat sometimes I have to return previous work like plumbing or welding sometimes driving but you know picking up a few trades over the years help keep me position I like which is never worried about a job. My next job requires a degree but sometimes you need to invest in yourself to come out ahead.
Many of us did this getting in the career as a driver I hope a few drivers mostly the younger crowd to do this but you are never too old try something new.
