I am a bit leery of the 3,300 miles he claimed, most of the drivers I spoke with said they averaged 2,800 per week, and while they do see 3,000 plus weeks, they are not the norm. -
The fear of no pay...
Sorta reminds me of an old proverb:
The lazy person claims, "There's a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!" -
Wait...you said you have car hauler experience and you're in the south east and your having trouble finding a job making good money??? Something is not adding up. Maybe I misread something. But I don't think I did. Awful lot of doom and gloom here. Am I missing something???
Just passing by, Lepton1 and Western flyer Thank this. -

I am all about the green right now.
I just don't want to go over the road for minimum wage.
Would they let me park at home since I am 2.5 hrs away from Tampa? -
Funny, I went out to do laundry, and I saw a Prime Inc. truck parked inside our residential community right in front of the club house. It must be someone who lives here who brought the truck home for the reset. I doubt that a random guy would just choose to park here for his reset. I was wondering, is that a sign I should sign up with them
Something else I have noticed, most companies these days are not offering sign on bonuses.

Seems like you're calculating all of the hours away from home as work and figuring your salary based on that. You'll lose your mind if you do that. Here's how it actually works out.
Say you drive dry van for Swift. 62mph at .36cpm... $22.32 per hour. About 1,450.80 with 65 hours spent driving. It won't ever work out that way, or very rarely. There were definitely weeks where I was close to that, but they were few. I think my highest gross as a non team company driver was 1300. That also wasn't dedicated. Dedicated accounts with 5 or so drops per load, paid loaded miles both ways, I have made 1600 plus many times.
Swift isn't the best paying company either. It depends on how you manage time and learn to work the system at whatever company you're with. Definitely will be weeks where you go hungry. Definitely will be weeks where you do amazing mileage if you aren't lazy.Lepton1 Thanks this.
