Something is wrong with the math on the Prime company driver. Let's say the company driver chose a condo truck, received no fuel or safety bonus, 3,300 x .41 = $1,353 gross. I never believe recruiters, and asked at the local PFJ what they average cpm with only the fuel bonus, and it was .44 cpm. Doing the math using the .44 cpm adds a few dollars, 3,300 x .44 = $1,452 gross per week. I don't work at Prime, looking right at the moment, but I was doing truck repo's and yes, I will be treated as no experience.
I am a bit leery of the 3,300 miles he claimed, most of the drivers I spoke with said they averaged 2,800 per week, and while they do see 3,000 plus weeks, they are not the norm.

    The fear of no pay...

Sorta reminds me of an old proverb:

The lazy person claims, "There's a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!"

Wait...you said you have car hauler experience and you're in the south east and your having trouble finding a job making good money??? Something is not adding up. Maybe I misread something. But I don't think I did. Awful lot of doom and gloom here. Am I missing something???

It sounded like you were working for a courier service with the Isuzu. If you would not mind working for a company out of Tampa let me know as I might have a lead for you. Can't promise 99% drop and hook though.

If it is a good job, if it pays good, I am on it.
I am all about the green right now.
I just don't want to go over the road for minimum wage.
Would they let me park at home since I am 2.5 hrs away from Tampa?

Funny, I went out to do laundry, and I saw a Prime Inc. truck parked inside our residential community right in front of the club house. It must be someone who lives here who brought the truck home for the reset. I doubt that a random guy would just choose to park here for his reset. I was wondering, is that a sign I should sign up with them :) Something else I have noticed, most companies these days are not offering sign on bonuses.

Again if you have car haul experience there are plenty that run out of the South and have sign on bonuses...am I missing something? There is Moore, H&A and SEC. And Virginia Transportation has a road board. 1500 to 2200 a week is not enough green?? ***Apparently I quoted the wrong post. Sorry not sure how to fix that.***

If you have experience, how is running 10k miles a month a formula for breaking the law ?

Seems like you're calculating all of the hours away from home as work and figuring your salary based on that. You'll lose your mind if you do that. Here's how it actually works out.

Say you drive dry van for Swift. 62mph at .36cpm... $22.32 per hour. About 1,450.80 with 65 hours spent driving. It won't ever work out that way, or very rarely. There were definitely weeks where I was close to that, but they were few. I think my highest gross as a non team company driver was 1300. That also wasn't dedicated. Dedicated accounts with 5 or so drops per load, paid loaded miles both ways, I have made 1600 plus many times.

Swift isn't the best paying company either. It depends on how you manage time and learn to work the system at whatever company you're with. Definitely will be weeks where you go hungry. Definitely will be weeks where you do amazing mileage if you aren't lazy.
