I found a set of tire chains I used to hang on side of trailer to get past denver if it will help you get started? I can get a tape if anyone knows how long they should be for 285/22.5 tires.

but no, I don't talk up mercer cause I get referrals, I do it cause I am happy here and this is the best place I have encountered in 35 years of trucking. and I am sure the guys who talk up landstar wouldn't do it for money either.
its all about being happy, I am so happy I have to sit on my hands to keep from clapping all the time. I know its a strange concept to the miserable folks out there, but some of us are happy with being truckers and owner ops with landstar and mercer. probably the two best with freedom to chart your own course. see at both places you pick and choose your own loads, if you end up in bad places, haul cheap, don't make money, the guy in the mirror looking at you is the problem, success or failure is on your shoulders.Blue jeans, Dave_in_AZ, Lost Navigator and 7 others Thank this. -
LS does have somewhat of a refferel bonus. I brought my buddy on this year and they called me up out of the blue and told me they appreciated me representing LS and loaded my fuel card with a $100 lol i said, hey okay, I won't turn that hundred down-thanks 😂

Truenorth is a pretty good physical damage insurance provider. Best rates I've been able to find thus far. I still have my truck insured @ $65,000 until I finsh paying it off this year and I pay $220 a month for insurance. When I get the title in my name I'll probably drop the coverage in half and insure for $30k or so, that'll drop that monthly expense down noticeably. But even now as it stands, $220 has been pretty manageable

That's exactly the reason it was either LS or Mercer - you're in control. Not enough miles? Look in the mirror. Not enough money? Look in the morror. No dispatcher breathing down your neck, or dreading seeing that caller ID pop up with the company name on it, when you're knee deep in tequila, poolside in the middle of Summer.Oxbow, HellStomper116 and tsavory Thank this.
