This is such a sad thread........
airforcetoo Thanks this. -
jta1978 said: ↑I will start by saying I'm not really listening to anyones negative opinions. If you want to act as if your better than me it will fall upon deaf ears. So lets get to it. I like many drivers have been blackballed by the DAC report. I have an unsatisfactory safety record under the reason for termination from my former company. Have been un able to get on with a major carrier since then. What happened that resulted in this? I will tell you but no there is not "more to the story" than I am telling. I won't even try to make it look better than it is. I tell it like it is. The company I drove for allowed 3 preventables before termination. I had a forth. So this was termination. I thought it was 3 in 3 years so by the time the 4th happened the first one had fallen off. Anyway it was 3 total I suppose. 1 DOT and 3 non DOT non serious incidences. So this failed to meet "their" safety criteria. So if you ask me "unsatisfactory safety record" is really a matter of opinion from company to company. One could allow 4, another 3, another no more than 1 or 2. There is no law or DOT threshold for determining an "unsatisfactory safety record". All up to the company. As a result a driver is black balled for an unspecified amount of time. Hire right and the trucking company have no sympathy and don't want to hear anything about your side of things. Nevermind that you have a family to feed and bills to pay. Over something small in money and nature can #### you from the industry.
But......I recently realized something and those who have accidents that put them at or near their companies allowance might want to listen up. Last year a good friend of mine was driving for his company. Notice I refuse to name the actual companies. His company allowed 3 and then termination. 3 is a pretty good standard. I am not sure if 3 would have been termination or not. He did what he realized was the best thing for his future at that time. He resigned. Before the company could process the papers for any impending termination he just resigned. He told me when he turned in his letter of resignation the person asked why? He responded "I would rather have a resignation on my record than a termination". The person said "I don't blame you". Now had he waited and let them terminate him he too would have been a victim of termination for "unsatisfactory safety record". As a result he has been able to easily get on with other companies. He is still searching for the one he calls home. All because he resigned before they had a chance to terminate him. AMAZING!!!!! Now had I known what then what I know now I could have done the same thing. After I got off the phone with safety about that forth accident and had I known it would be termination I could have gone to my QC I put my letter of resignation in. They wouldn't have been able to put "unsatisfactory safety record" for reason of leaving as they would have to put "resigned". Then I would have nothing holding me back except fitting another companies accident allowance. Which most companies would have gone ahead and hired me. So you heard me right. Check your facts. If you know you have reached you companies allowance of accidents or for whatever reason they might be looking to terminate you beat them to the punch. TURN IN YOUR RESIGNATION and that might just save your career.Click to expand... -

I didn't even read the original post. No need.
DAC is a private company subject to privacy laws in respective states and you must give "consent" for them to sell your information.
Stop being so ####### stupid and withdrawl your consent.
When DAC can no longer make money "wholesaling" drivers personal information maybe they will begin to hold companies to a basic standard of proof of a drivers actions.
There is no other industry that holds a system such as DAC.
If you want change in your industry start by withdrawing your consent from DAC and send a message to big carriers that you're done being #### on.Click to expand...
To OP maybe you can contest what is on your dac IDK but its worth a shot worst that can happen is that the problem issues wont go away best case they get removed and than you can carry on. and than do as above but could be bad if the company you work/ed for closes as you will no longer have a verifiable driving record. now the old dogs may know how to verify it if that ever happens but this green horn doesn't lol
you may consider this negative but i consider it constructive criticsisim
4 accidents in that short of a time ever think maybe you didnt do what you could to prevent them in the first place? could be due to the training you received wasnt good enough could be a funk it attitude i cant say for sure as im not you or was there to see what you did/didnt do accepting responsibility for it will make you a better man and driver.
take this as you will but no disrespect intended. we all know stuff happens and in no way do i expect you to explain yourself here about the incidents just hope you can take a positive away from this and know why those happened and do better at keeping them from happening again as someday it may cost you a life, yours or someone elses.airforcetoo and bigdogpile Thank this. -
I didn't say anything to "make myself feel better" just using my driving record as an example..now go back to the OP and tell him , awe its OK.. 4 wrecks isn't bad ,it happens all the time..your a good person stuck in bad situation you should be able to get a job wIth the best employers out there..

Now that we got that out of the way, did u check out those companies that don't use DAC?
Maybe you can start again with a small carrier and then take that as a new lease on life and even more important, a new hope for ure CDL and ure career
