A lot of newbies wish to become their own boss and drive when and where they want to. Answering to no one except a long line of creditors. Here is how I made that dream, or nightmare, come true.

Went to prison. Got out on Parole. Told by parole officer find a job, don't leave state.

Sc rew that, I will be an over the road trucker.

Went to trucking school. Fort Scott Community College in Kansas Ctiy, KS. $2500. Top graduate. No job offers.

Hire by a temp agency to work for a company delivering shingles. 1 week.

Took road test for Fed Ex. Not hired because of "Criminal" background. Later reversed.

Hired by Keystone Automotive Operations. Team driver. Fired

Hired by Design Transport Fired 2 weeks.

Hired by ACT local driver. Fired

Hired by Transport America 3 days Fired

Hired by JVT. Engine blew, Fired.

Hired by Henson Trucking. Destroyed a Pete 379 and a trailer. Sued State of Oklahoma. Won suit. Fired

    Hired by CJS. Fired

Hired by Fastenal.....It appears you can't ask a female to go fix you a sandwich there....fired.

    Hired by K&B. Fired.

    Hired by Hirschbach. Fired.

Bought truck. Got own authority. Now try to fire me.

Man, thanks for sharing all that. But it totally ruined my hopes of feeling sorry for myself...or anyone else for that matter.

It seems I was not a natural truck driver. Lots of trees, signs, and light poles paid a high price for my education.

This is like the stories you see about celebrities that didn't give up and ended up making it.

You're like the trucking version of Oprah.

    Actually, it can.

Like having his authority yanked for some reason.
