Well at least he didn't just throw on 4 straps and take off...he has to have over 15 on there.

I had 26 on a load of 5x10 wire mesh last month.. 13'4 high and must be done from the ground. That was like wrestling a clump of scrapped barbwire.

U could throw 6 chains and 2 cross chains on front and be done in half the time it takes to pull all those straps and wind them up and tighten them. I usually throw 10 chains . 2 cross chain on front and 8 down side on 50ft steel beams. I always thought chains are faster than straps and work way better on steel products, ive cut straps even with edge protection , i guess it will always be a lifelong debate of straps or chains on steel beams, personal preference i suppose as long as none of them come thru ur cab. But i will never throw straps on steel beam unless customer requires it ,just my opinion

You’ll see a lot of straps on steel in the NW for a few reasons. One is weight. Second is if you pull a Western you’d need a bunch of J hooks to use your chains. Third is straps work just fine. Lol
