That's always my concern about being a flatbedder, is losing my bar. That's crazy how it stayed on there. Good driving driver!

I had a load last week that I was looking for the stupid bar. Spent 15-20min. Checked all my boxes and underneath the tarp that I just finished tarping off. Underneath the tractor and trailer. Finally I thought someone stole it.

That is until I saw it on top of my headache rack. Lol. Could barely see it but thank god I did.

Judging by your picture, it probably would've stayed! But at least you have a bungee or strap points on yours.

Some folks just have too much faith. Good to get in front of them. I heard sirens, hope he was on route to pull them over. It's silly, they can afford new trucks, new skidloader but not $100 in chains, binders, and a few straps for the wood.

I suppose on one hand, it's got ramps so it SHOULD stay in right? NO!

I watched a golf cart roll right off a little trailer in the middle of town yesterday. I think they had one small friction type strap holding it on. Luckily it bounced and went onto the sidewalk into a building rather than crashing into traffic. Balls were a bouncin everywhere. Couldn’t help but honk my horn and laugh at the spoiled rich kids who popped out of the pickup to retrieve one of their dads golf cart. About as bad as the ATV that fell out of the back of the pickup last year that had no straps at all. The result was the same. I feel the general public is much more dangerous than us hazardous truckers.

I know guys who hold whole bundles of rebar down with a skidsteer and two chains, they also load rocks on flatbed with 2x16s holding them in kind of. Yes the local construction guys can be scary as anything.

Unfortunately, I’ve been there and done that, and I’ll never do it again.

Bud A. and Lepton1 Thank this.
