Ok heres the deal in june of 2010 i went to swifts school i did good in class and on the range then i went to road training the had my cdl desting set up with a third party tester the second day of road training so of course i faild the road part but passed pretrip a and skills so i was set to retest 3 days later the tester was on his phone the whole time and when we were done he marked a bunch of stuff on the paper then said i failed thdn he got out of the truck and left. I was shocked i by no means was a perfect driver but i was ok i was a little ruff with the shifting and i made a couple other mistakes. My swift instructer was suprised that i failed also. So i went home and found another job doing armed security again so about 3 weeks later swft called me and offered to put me back in road traing then test at dmv. I had to turn it down because i had put my family in a finacial bind andi needed a paycheck. Now im in a position financially to try again do you think prime will give me a chance even thow i faild another school? I never wanted to be a truck driver i just applyed becouse of the benifets but as soon as i got in that truck i fell in love badly now all i want to do is drive truck i may be crazy but i even dream about it. Do you think i got a shot?

Since you're in a pretty good position to start over; look around at several companies. As the other posts say, stay away from the lease programs. Prime refrigerated would be fine as a company driver.

Keep in mind that all training companies are "bottom feeders". Some are worse than others. I chose Prime for a few reasons:
- $600/wk guaranteed once you get through initial training (~1 mo) and get your CDL;
- Once out of training, per-mile pay higher than other training companies
- As a female, I will have a female trainer. (VERY important to me.)
There are a few other reasons, but they are more "icing on the cake" and situational.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
This is a training job. Treat it as such. You are at the bottom of the pile, and bear with it for your first year. Then, you will have the experience needed to go to a "real" trucking company.
Every company has naysayers badmouthing it. Some weren't accepted by the company, or failed out of training for any of a number of reasons. Others are shilling for another company. Look at the number of posts that the naysayer has made. One post? Sounds like someone trying to escape a reputation...HittinTheRoad Thanks this. -

Prime doesn't push leases - I ran on the company side for 3 years, and never was approached about it.
