Indeed....... this guy has a hole in the side of his ship and is sinking. Love how he said beneficial to the driver.....

No matter, there is something wrong there. miles drive everything but fixed costs. His length of haul is down but his costs and fuel are up? And he brought in a transportation consultant? Meaning what? they don't know how to run the place and needed guidance from an expert?

Won't be long for him now........ results like that will garner strong attention from the share holders. Home boy is gonna need a job real soon........

I thought that was somewhat humorous too how he seemed to think one less business day held any significance. What would those numbers mean? If you had all 2150 or so trucks that they reported having for the qaurter on the road which I assure they didn't. And they drove all 11 hours (roughly 650 miles for the day) which I assure you didn't happen. At what 2.50 to 3 dollars a mile which I assure you would not have happened. In the hyothetical fantasy world that would have equated to gross rev of 4.1 mil. Funny how they talk about higher fuel cost but it looks like the fuel bill was lower than the same quarter in 2011. In fact all operating exprenses were lower yoy except for driver pay.

USA truck should have sold out to Celadon when they had the chance. That would have been one business decision Cliff himself could have celebrated.

USA has some things they do good but they can't act like we drivers do not read the quarterly results. What kind of confidence does that give us drivers to see quarter after quarter going down hill? What does it do to driver retention, and the recruitment of both experienced and non-experienced drivers. I like working for this company but nowadays I question if I'm crazy to stick it out and have that "hope".

There are too many good trucking outfits out there to stick with a company who's demise is all but imminent. I have believed for a while that if they didn't hold that debt numbers would be sooooo much better if not in the black. If your record is good there are so many companies out there.

Funny how other companies like Celedon increased sales by 8.4 percent despite dealing with the same US economy and the one less day!!! I assume they use the same calendar that Cliff uses?!?!?

It really baffles me. I wonder if USA truck had the same revs as Celadon if results would have been better? Im guessing it wouldn't have made much of a difference. This is the third quarter and 9 month revs are only at 308 mil so annual revs will be just over 400 mil. Not looking very good. Anyone who thinks they will pull out of this funk is dilusional.

My best recommendation is to keep on driving. I don't see any driver losing their jobs here. I will repeat what I said earlier in this thread about emergency cash, keep as much as possible. But it's my opinion all of the drivers will land on their feet most likely staying in their current trucks. In a hostile take over it's the operations people and management that has to worry, and considering the sorry way both treat the drivers in general I won't lose a bit of sleep about it either!

    Eicch Thanks this.
