Been there before. La Puente, Ca. They ever fix the barbed wire that was hanging down soon as you get out of your tractor it's right there ready to slice your shoulder open
This has been a bad year at Walmart.

Question; if wal mart shut down the private fleet...wouldn't the drivers dump their stock and cause a drop on the stock price? Don't think the ceo would like that...they might shut it down slowly, like forcing drivers out but not all at once.
-
WMT has an absolutely huge market cap. Big funds moving in and out of the stock definitely will have more effect on the price action than the drivers will.

Kinda sad to see the demise of a once proud private fleet and I go back to the days when wal mart was unheard of north of Iowa and ran 9670s.
foggy Thanks this. -
still is a proud fleet

Considering the number of DC's I go to that now have FULL Swift fleets complete with onsite shop, I'd be surprised if there is a Walmart fleet in a couple of years.
If the think about it from a business perspective, what sense does it make to have a fleet of trucks
- Trucks are expensive
- Labor is expensive
- Labor benefits are WAY expensive
- Liability
To me it's a no brainer to contract out the trucking. They already do mega business with tons of trucking companies.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Nope. I don't buy that. Swift pulling all our store loads would be a disaster, walmart would still get sued over all the accidents and damages, plus the stores would pitch a fit not getting their freight in a timely matter.
