I was never much on the mirrors myself. I had several trucks without them.
They do however help if you are up near a curb backing into a dock or in a tight spot where you need to see where that steer tire is at......Yea,they do look a little funky but can be useful too.

Must be a new requirement at Landstar,or I missed the memo?I was with Landstar/Inway a long time, and never had them, but not a big deal if they would have been required, just didn't want holes in my hood.

My comment was not meant to offend. Its only my opinion.

I never found hood mirrors useful. Thats just me. I'm not bashing the usage or if someone needs them. Everyone has their own style of driving. The hood mirrors are more of a distraction for me than any kind of safety feature.

Wow if you want, its my exsperiance. I said, you like em fine. Never said dont. But the idea of "another tool" is pointless. A tool is only usefull if used proporly. And i dont see alot of that... sorry as well to the op, (shoulda kept my mouth shut) :)

Punching holes in a truck is punching holes in a truck, and both items are equally useless, so it's a pretty darn good analogy in my opinion.

And every one of those situations could have also been avoided by paying attention coupled with a little situational awareness.

Bet you have these on your truck, too...another tool, after all. 29-012008_l.jpg

Ha! - No, I don't have those. But the spot mirrors are handy for seeing that far right front corner when you're RIGHT UP on something - for some reason the discussion reminded me of those . . . things.

But if I did have them, they're have little lights at the top - then you could really call me a tool. :)

Not to beat a dead horse viz a viz mirrors on your sweet truck, but maybe you can stick em on with gorilla glue and avoid drillin holes? Worked for my boot that was losin a sole.

Now that my five star advice is out the wAy, wanna wish ya the best of luck in your new rig! Love me a new adventure. You should start a thread now that you've teased us with what ya bought

As you probably know - it's on the LS inspection form - little box "Spot mirror"? Same as "Reverse lights" - (Got them fixed - they never checked them again).

And as you probably also well know - if you know your inspection guy well enough, and he knows you keep your equipment up - those boxes just . . . well . . . . :)
