If it looks like it and smells like it then most probably it is.

Trucking does not nuture careers. They are fast to dispose of problem drivers and replace them with even more problematic recruits called Mr Flipflop off the bus.

So that school's marketing feel good find you a job, cradle to grave is BS.

Correct. Driving is NOT a career.
Many drivers are making less money than when they started.
(actual wage plus cost of living increases which never came over the last 30years.......driving should be six figures, clear across the board.)

Once this so called "driver shortage" ends, what do you think companies are going to be paying you?

    More money or less money?

Careers generally don't go backwards in pay over time.

The BS isn't just recruiters. Had the Terminal Manager tell me it's a $75K a year job. I made $54K.

Really? My pension and over six figure pay for most of my career tend to disagree. Company paid healthcare, 401k, etc.... There are plenty of trucking careers out there if you wanna look for em.

    Nope. Don't believe it .
Anyone telling you they're making 6 figures is most likely lying or an owner operator and they're telling you their gross pay.

The last of the decent jobs that were comparable to trades for the same hours worked were back in the 90s.

    Zip.

Robot time. Humans as a cost will be disposed of excepting those few jockeys allowed to input big computers to move and back 18 wheelers that can do it themselves running minimum wage.

2 weeks out 1 week home sounds like part time OTR . Now I have seen job advertisement for oilfield drivers that was 3 weeks out 1 week home slip seat.

Staying home seriously cuts into your income for the month. Id just as soon stay out from say end of Feb all the way to Nov 1. I am a outcast and a nomad anyway... pay me.
