And often times it is the spray nozzle that gets frozen over with ice, even though the washer fluid is fine.
A butane torch lighter can clear that up, if it isn't too windy.
Gently, though. Don't want to melt the nozzle or lines in the process of clearing the ice.

Never had a heated windshield, but I've had some luck pulling the visors down and cranking the defroster way up. It traps the heat to the windshield. You will have to open your window or you'll be sweating your balls off.

Use the sleeper heater for you and the AC for the windshield. Let the snow slide off. Keeps from having to use the wipers and having the snow ice up the windshield and wipers.

Couple oz of simple green mix in regular washer fluid helps with salt and calcium chloride.

as others have said, heated wiper blades. These are the only way.

or, wrap the hose around the outlet nipple of the tank, then to the spray jets, for a warm wash.
also, use a mix of washer fluid at least -25 and one bottle of rubbing alcohol in the tank.18 wheels hummin Thanks this. -
