Also try every strap. the easiest leave it last.
the hardest has the most bind to it. it's a mind game. tighten the easiest. no load is perfect, work around the winches. eventually they become loosen.
Tips for loosening extremely tight straps on a winch?

i have some newer style wenches on my trailer where they changed the design a little. the pin is positioned different it falls into the slots at a higher angle so it doesn't sit very deep.
they're very easy to loosen , but if you're working with company equipment that's probably not an option.crackerjack123 Thanks this. -
Makes sense. Thank you.

It's company equipment.OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

HEY SCRAWNY DUDE!!

If you’re a lightweight - I’d consider taking your winch bar to a machine shop and cutting and lengthening it. Just enough to get extra leverage.
I use an ergo bar, rather than the traditional.
All else fails - cut the strap with a razor.crackerjack123 and Shaggy Thank this. -

Longer winch bar and 2500 calories more a day

Lord knows I would love to have an excuse to swallow 3 Hardee’s burgers each day . . .

I just did a little reading about the ergo bar. Looks really nice. What does using the ergo bar enable you to do differently than a traditional winch bar? Do you think I could use a cheater bar with the ergo bar? The equipment is company owned but if I have to cut a strap to get the job done, I guess I'll cut it. I had not thought of that. Thank you.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

You have hit on my main challenge, my weight. However, I rarely eat fast food so I guess I'm out of luck. I've thought about wearing a 20 lb weighted vest to give me that extra push down
