A trucker told me that he carries a 50' air hose so he can inflate a low tire whenever he needs (less hassle). Anyone else have a suggestion or good list for a newbie?

Tire psi guage, adjustable wrenches, wrenches, sockets up to 1", srewdrivers, electrical repair items soldering gun, multimeter, electrical connectors, various air fittings, bulbs, headlight, fuses, relays that pertain to trk that your operating, extra fuel filters, and about a 1/2 gallon of diesel to fill filters. Grease gun to grease fittings on trk and fifth wheel. Some of this might not pertain to a company driver. I carry alot of items as far as tools. Air tools and etc up to 2 inch on wrenches and sockets. But i use to be a field service mechanic for a major equipment dealer and have 10's of thousands $ in tools.

I wouldn't bring any tools till you become solo. But vice grips are a necessity.Sometimes you'll get a trailer where that handle won't stay locked while you're sliding the tandems.Clamp your vice grips around the handle.,works great.Don't forget a fifth wheel puller.Better that then risking getting fifth greese all over you and clothes and ruining your clothes. In the winter fith wheels are hard to pull without a puller.

a torch for if and when your stuff freezes and some hose clamps, I have a air hose to fill up my tires, goes all the way to the trailer but its hard to roll back up when its cold, I also carry a shovel and a ice breaker and all the fluids, and a latter but I drive a flat bed, might want to get some bungees no matter what, I have given a lot to other drivers for chaining and what not.

You may also want to carry some C-clamps. I use them to temporarily secure a fallen/dangling trailer mud flap before a more permanent fix can be made. Saves time and the cost of roadside repair.pattyj Thanks this.
