Your right on just going with the real deal. I might as well go all in and get an exhd like you said.

I had a thread about this a short while ago while I was looking at buying a TMC truck. In short, don't do it. The oil change interval is 40,000 miles. I asked to see service records of when the oil changes were done or any repairs were done and the salesman flat out said no. He told me that all fluids were changed at their regular intervals and the only way I would get any paperwork is if I bought one that had an in-frame and even then, they would only give me the paperwork for the in-frame. If someone isn't willing to show you the paperwork then they are hiding something. I asked him if it was due to liability in case a part they replaced failed and caused me to wreck. He said it is in part. I told him I would be more than willing to sign a piece of paper saying that they would not be held liable for any damages if I could just see service and repair records and he said they will not do that.

There is no way I could drop $40k or $50k on a truck that has 900k - 1mill miles on it and not see a single piece of paperwork on the truck. They take people fresh out of school. Those 13 speeds are a little more fragile than the average 10 speed. So, these trucks have seen a fair share of abuse. Take the advice that I was given and look around. Since I started looking around, I found trucks WITH service and repair records that have fewer miles and even some have warranties for the same or less money as one of those TMC trucks. And these are 379's and 379EXHD's. I test drove one last weekend. 2007 379EXHD with 800k on it. ISX cummins with an 18 speed, before and after boxes, brand new virgin drives, brand new steers, and a bunch of new parts. It is a little more than those TMC trucks but at least I will know what I am getting.

Loke, the following quote is from a Schneider thread is was reading.
Driver is looking to lease a pumpkin truck.
So apparently you can get oilsamples at the great pumpkin.

Seems some mega's have less to hide then others.

    Hope this helps.:yes2557:
