Had to pick up a tcalled trailer at a terminal once, a hazmat load going only 272 more miles. Pretrip it, brakes are paper thin and the driver had already taken through 2 states to get where it was. I got the mechanics to come look at it for a second opinion they put the trailer out of service. Went into the office to be taken off the load and assigned a new load, nope, you will sit and wait for this load. 24 more hours of sitting til it was done. That's the kinda crap I really hate.
To drive or not to drive!

Solution this solution that blah blah blah I'd try to fix this or that blah blah. You don't haul that truck. Even 5 #### feet until its fixed bud. Cuz you get into an accident or someone hits you and they find out you had light issues, guess what? Might as well bend over and smile

And if you did pull it and risked it. You red flag that sob when you drop it to cover your ###
night night

Just FYI:
I did try to fix the trailer myself before taking the load but could not find the problem.
Took to the Petro today.
Turns out someone or something punctured the trailer from the inside and it tore up some of the wiring inside the electrical box.
I drove it around Philly and South Jersey during rush hour in the rain. Stress me out...halovesthedrive Thanks this. -
I find it unbelievable that these companies have not replaced all their lights with LEDs .

I am pretty sure they were led's. They just didn't work.

My FM called me once and told me he was about to send me a load with trouble. It was actually a hot load and there was a bad air leak. The previous driver did report it but the mechanic sent to fix it lacked the ability to charge the air system and needed a tractor. My FM gave me his cell number and told me to call him about 15 minutes out. As I was backing under the trailer when the guy came and spent about 20 minutes on it. I was only delayed about 30 minutes. Crap happens, it is the nature of life as a trucker. But when we work as a team and communicate it goes so much easier. I had been on the other end of this. It sucks, but you never leave a problem for another driver.

I carry a lot more spare lights than my short list above. Spare side markers, spare running light bulbs, spare headlight bulbs, halogen H7, anything I can do myself that will keep me rolling on schedule.

Wow you guys. I would have called the company and told them "nope not moving the trailer, get me another load" and had them to deal with it. I would not take a chance with getting into an accident and then being blamed for not dealing with the problem when it was found.
