The fumes are horrible from APU’s. And, DPF trucks still produce carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Stacks should be required on all trucks and APU’s should be required to be plumbed into them. The industry doesn’t seem to care about driver health and well-being, though.

I hate idling, I have a bunk heater for sleeping and a harbor freight generator I keep in the trailer tool box, very rarely do I need it for electrical in the winter but I set it up if I’m somewhere for a few hours so I’m not dragging off the batteries, in the summer I have a portable AC that I stick the exhaust hose out the passenger window for the summer if I sit somewhere a while,
I’m not wasting money on an apu -
All i know is you have to burn a heck of a lot of fuel just to match the initial cost of an apu.
Maybe if i ran otr i would consider it, but that’s about the only way.abyliks Thanks this. -
