Speakin a which, I saw a swifty in a big hurry on the ice. The other guys in the line (2 lane) were hollering at him to wait till the passing lane 2 miles ahead but he kept weaving out to see if he could get around. He ended up passing most of the line in the passing lane stretch, then me a few miles later (I wandered towards the shoulder and let him by.)
Credit is due though, since the lead truck in the line was another swift running about 40mph.
To the fedex driver that was in the median on I-10

Fed Ex Ground = Super Truckers.

I concur ... Fed Ex sux ... don't matter where or when you see 'em ... they have zero road courtesy and care not one whit about your safety or the general motoring public. Maybe they ought to look down into the back seat of one of those 4 wheelers sometime and see the kids strapped into those car seats ... instead of primping in in the mirror

The location was Erlanger Ky and the Police Report was circulated
around FedEx hubs and their respective Compliance heads.
FE Driver wasn't cited.
The incident happened in 07,therefore ABS and automatic slacks
exempt the driver from brake adjustment(s)
LEO reported car bounced off the wall so . . . . .
What you dont see is the FE truck smashing into 2 other cars before coming to a stop which isn't seen on the video.
The female Fed Ex driver of 9 years is likely still pulling Line Haul for the Independence KY Hub.

A few years ago i was driving across I-40 in New Mexico after a bad Snow storm.
I saw at least 20 trucks in the ditch or the median i counted at least 8 of them
where Fed-Ex trucks pulling doubles. What i wondered at the time was how this
company can afford to stay in business with all that those expensive trucks and
its customers freight being damaged or destroyed by these idiots they hire to
drive their trucks? -
eh, i knew a linehaul contractor out of cleveland that had 4 rigs and a million safe miles under his belt.
there is such a GO GO GO mentality during peak (xmas) season that you really can't even imagine it without ever having been a part of it. -
WHAT I SEE is several cars and trucks CRAWLING by an accident scene on an icy road. Who cares what happened to cause the Fed Ex truck to lose control. Speed was too fast for conditions.

That's easy, TOO FAST FOR ROAD CONDITIONS! The same as most of there accidents. What I really can't understand is even the hourly day cab drivers do it.
