I did. There’s no way for me to close the trailer door lol!
I’m mad tho. Cuz I knew better. I refused the load twice. Even messaged my dl right before the incident letting her know nobody is helping me
to be fair, the ppl here don’t understand English so maybe if I said it Spanish they would of been willing to help? Who knows
Today I had my worst day in trucking in my almost 10 year career(accident related)

I want to say something though:
People wonder why young people don't want to get into trucking anymore, when something as small as this, that doesn't even involve the police or any tickets, can prevent you from getting better job.
And of course many of you will say
"It still costs the company money and insurance was involved."
So what. That's the cost of doing business. #### like this shouldn't follow you around for the next 10 years.
Imagine working at a restaurant and an air vent falls down while you're trying to clean it and the air vent breaks another piece of equipment. Then imagine that staying on some unofficial (non governmental) record keeping database where every single restaurant for the next 10 years will know about this and make hiring decisions off of this.
Imagine working landscaping and you have a dumb moment where you're going slightly too fast on the mower and slip on some grass, crashing the mower into a tree. Imagine this incident being recorded for every single employer for the next 10 years to be able to see on some unofficial record keeping database, where other landscaping companies will be able to make hiring decisions based off this.
This same concept applies to white collared jobs too. DAC is such ########. This is the only mistake OP has made in 10 years of driving and now he can't drive for a good company like Walmart and it may cost him jobs down the line.
This industry is so dumb, imagine expecting any other industry to work their employees 70 hours per week (no overtime 75% of the time either lol) with a pitiful 4 days off per month and a pitiful 1 week vacation after working there for 1 year, and not expecting them to make any mistakes (when they basically work 24/7) and if they do make mistakes to have that mistake (even if no law enforcement was needed or involved) follow them around for 10 whole years on some unofficial record keeping database.
#### this industry is broken.
Now I guess it's time for the perfect truckers to come out and tell me I'm wrong and how DAC is the best thing ever. Hell, maybe even the Super Truckers can come onto this thread and tell me that actually DAC is not strict enough and we need to start adding things like hard breaking events that trigger "events" on these smart cameras to show up on our DAC reports as well.

It's hard to tell you that I know exactly how you feel and don't stress over it. Sounds ridiculous to even say it. But I do know how you're feeling right now.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Yeah it sucks but I agree it’s on them, that bracket sticking out I’m sure has hung more trailers than yours.

Tough break man, they probably gave you that crap load because they knew you were leaving. I'd say it's relatively minor but as far as what i'd do with the next company, that's ultimately your call. My trainer back in the day always told me to never tell on yourself, but this is already kind of out there. If everything at your next company is already verified then it probably never sees the light of day. Their shop will most likely end up repairing the trailer inhouse anyway. It's a tough one, but I'd probably disclose the accident if I thought the new company would likely find out. If not then I'd just roll with it. That's just me though.

I’m literally only going there to save money until
The end of the year.
Don’t judge me, to be fair, I did extensive research and this company doesn’t seem like a terrible one.
