You may make 10-20k more per year but you will work double the hours and live out of a truck to get that money. Hometime will be a roll of the dice. Weekends aren't made for Michelob in this biz...it's sitting in a truckstop waiting for a Monday AM delivery.

Earlier you made some comments about wanting affordable health insurance. Being an OO you will have none. Just another thing to consider.

I know. I would have to buy my own. I was self-employed for 5 years one time and I had to buy it then. Cost me about $800 a month for family coverage. Something to think about for sure.

I would be living out of a truck working for a company. Not much different other than I get to call more of the shots than working for someone.

At any rate, it was just something else I was considering. Do you mind if I ask who you drive for or are you an o/o?

If you know me then you know I am not one to settle for less. I am not content with just average. I am always looking to better myself and am a very persistent person. I am also a hard worker.

So between persistence and hard work, I WILL succeed.

Too many negative people in the world :-(

Actually my full time job does have company take home van, full benefits, health, dental, eye all for $45 per week family coverage, and I currently have almost 160 hours vacation (which I can take anytime I want) and 400 sick hours...just dont make $80k per year.

My point is that finding a job with benefits is not impossible. They are out there. You just have to look for them.
