If you have dedicated customers for that freight it’s one thing, but you aren’t jamming a 60 pallet LTL load onto a 48’, it also limits to if you can find a light/volume load.

That’s why the big companies pull 53’s.
I pulled a lot of multi stop loads with double and sometimes triple stacked pallets in a 48’.

I run an old Cowan lightweight 579 Pete. Empty with reefer I scale 34,000. I've never had a scale tell me I was overweight. Carriers think they are loading me to 80k and I am typically 77k max. Maybe you can do the trick some do and register for 88,000 where you can. No idea what states allow this.

Don't idle... Idling does not generate enough heat to clean emission filters = $$$$ down the road.
Solved 75% of my ISX emission problems by NOT idling. Owned truck for 11 years
Buy bunk a heater, engine heater or APU. Much cheaper than emission repairs.
Wheelbase will be determined by terminal and customer loading dock configurations.
I haul groceries to supermarket's so 53 foot tridem and T600 72" sleeper with 228 inch wheelbase works 4 me.
Loads are mainly light but occasionally can be heavy, so with the tridem no worries.
How much dedicated produce or meat are you hauling?
53 foot makes you versatile. Don't over look getting spread tandem or tridem trailer axels.

Truck is expected to start built 1st of March on a 280 WB, I will get her fueled half tanks and get it weighed. Trailer is a ‘21 Utility 3000R on a 700 TK unit on a 53’ box tandem. Will let you guys know where I’m at weight wise and all. Most work will be warehouse to warehouse but I don’t have a problem with figuring out a tight back.

I’m sorry guys, the typo in the title literally says

Specing a new underwear in Russian.

I had to check why. Disappointed that it’s a legit thread and not something for entertainment like “oh crap moments”.

When did you actually order the truck? Just wondering what kind of time frame you are looking at vs Volvo. I ordered my VNL 860 in March of last year and it is now scheduled to be built Tomorrow if it doesn't get pushed back for a 3-4 time.
