Yes you can be fined personally. Depends on the officer.

Call this company and ask for registration.

Let's be clear. You are the driver. You are responsible to make sure that you have inspected the equipment that you drive, and YES, that includes making sure before you move it, that it has proper paperwork, registration, current inspection, etc. The fact that you didn't know what CSA points are, and asking this question, shows you are not qualified at this time to be driving a commercial vehicle. Learn your craft and your responsibilities. CYA. If you don't know what that stands for, you really don't belong driving commercial vehicles. It's not personal, but it's apparent you are woefully under-equipped to enter into this industry.

Not to mention safety of other motorists out there.

Pulling a trailer with no inspection sticker not only causes the driver to become liable it can cause injury or death to other people.

CAXPT and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Got to ask yourself, why is the company not willing to spend the $100 to have a mobile mechanic come out and do an inspection?
The answer is likely it will not pass and it will cost a lot of money to get it to pass. That should tell you something alone.

I’ve done it in the past. But in todays world if you get hit by a drunk driver, the accident will automatically be your fault because the trailer shouldn’t have been on the road. If the other motorist is severely injured or dies…you could ver well end up in prison after the lawyers are done with you. It’s not right but it’s how it can end up.

It's like candy. Some nice people just give them free of charge.
Really nice people. You will meet them, someday.
Don't forget to say 'Thank you' when you get them.
They'll tell you 'You can go now but, please come back soon'.
    Really nice people.

Chieftains, CAXPT and JoeyJunk Thank this.

let's be clear, as you say....

this poster said (unless i read a different thread, or he removed his comment) he only has 20 months of time in.

i highly doubt YOU KNEW EVERYTHING in that amount of time yourself. too much to learn in any amount of time, and many times, forgetfulness hits everyone, and i'd imagine that includes YOU TOO.

one or 2 questions doesn't make him an idiot, but the respondents here, thinking they are God's gift to the industry......well.....that's another story

Some are, some aren’t. I have been sampling the Loves variety lately. Usually requires a trip to the bathroom.
