Schneider, Swift, J&R Schugel, PTL and a few more don't force teaming while training. That's a stupid idea anyway.

    Judge Thanks this.

Check out Magnum in Fargo ND.
NO team training and a decent place to start out your career….
Trainer sits in the passenger seat your whole training period and you drive. This was a MUST when I started. I cannot sleep in a moving truck/car/airplane or bus. I started out with them. Excellent training company. Try to get Chris as a trainer.
    Competitive pay too!

    Didn't say it wasn't. I stated they don't team a student.

Find a company that doesn't pull reefer . Most reefer companies take advantage of having the cheap labor team .

@dcowboy77 Where did you end up?

I'm thinking about doing the Prime training just until I get my CDL, but not going out on their TNT training. The cost is really no different than most CDL schools, but this way I would get actual on the job training while getting my CDL. I think it's $4875. Is this a good or bad idea?

    I
Magnum sounds awesome. I ended up going back to my state govt job of 20+ years while I try to sort this all out. Folks seeing me return are like,, duh,, could have told you,, they don't act surprised, trucking doesn't get the respect it deserves and can have a bad reputation with many. that is not my reaction.. I have great respect for the industry but have to take some more time to decide on the " life change". It really is just that. Trucking is something that has fascinated me for years before I tried it and it continues to now, I just have to step back for a bit and try and decide if I want to plunge all the way in. ..I totally agree on the sleeping in a moving anything. Many survive that phase of training and thrive, I could not.
