    @Broke Down 69 I know it's rough, but I personally would recommend you stick it out. You've got the fortitude to land yourself a sweet gig a year from now. Just my opinion.

    @Broke Down 69 Keep your head up, remember this is temporary until you get some time and miles under your belt. Think long term, not short term, there are better places out there for you in the future.

    So, you go through truck driving school and hire on with a company with the expectations you will run OTR in a nice truck.

    In fact, you chose that particular company based on the niceness of the trucks as advertised...

    Then, you're hoodwinked into becoming the repo man for their abandoned trucks all over the place?

    Nah, I'd tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine if they try and send me on another repo mission. But once again, that's just me.

    I'm to southern to understand hockey...I mean seriously, isn't the puck iced all the time.

    Just saying.

    Well to tell the God's honest truth I get a hell of a lot more than that. I cleared a grand last week and it'll be more like $1300 this week. Good driving miles and flight miles to boot add up pretty dang quick.

    Oh I'm going to hang on. I just got a little frustrated yesterday knowing that I was going to have to get out of a solid truck and hop in one that is all kinds of screwed up. Eventually it will croak or get pulled out of service and I'll move up a notch.

    I remind myself of that daily...sometimes more like hourly.

    I got to hang in there. Besides the money's pretty good and I'm generating a bit of a reputation as a guy who will get it done no matter what "it" is.

    Ontario, California...again.

    Get to sit tight here until Monday morning so I'm going to binge watch football starting at 10 am (the west coast has a few benefits) tomorrow and hope when I pick up the Purple Turd she'll stay under me for a couple weeks at least. I may be hoping for the impossible but despite occasional bouts of frustration, I'm fundamentally an optimist.

    One good note in all this is I already have 1150 miles in two days this week and I just racked up 1800 more flight miles, plus recovery pay and I'm pretty sure I'll get a good long run out of here to boot.
