Sometimes there just isn't a choice, not if a driver wants to get that first job and everywhere else says no. I am looking at the very real prospect of having to go to TransAm, if I want to start my trucking career this year.

If the driver got his engine rebuilt for $2100, please provide us with the shop location!Another Canadian driver, AModelCat and alds Thank this.

OTOH,maybe we’re better off not knowing-shop may have used knock-off parts!!
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
$2100 wouldn't even cover the aftermarket parts... I don't know whether TransAm is good or bad, but the engine statement makes me question his entire postAnother Canadian driver and mjd4277 Thank this.

Last I checked they try to sucker drivers into the fleece purchase racket. For all we know those aftermarket parts could be Chinese knockoffs that could fail before the truck’s next scheduled PM.Last edited: Jul 14, 2020

I am sure they do. It is where they make the most money. Then they re-lease the truck and do it all over again....Another Canadian driver and mjd4277 Thank this.

I got pushed once by this big guy wearing a ski mask over his face. He said “give a haircut”. I said “I don’t have time right now”. So he said “then give me all your money” and then he pushed me real hard, right in the chest. It was a real assault is what it was.
Another Canadian driver and Lonesome Thank this. -
If only one crappy company will give you a shot, it maybe a message this industry isn't for you.
It's not that hard to get a driving job. Just wait a bit until whatever is causing the issue to fall off.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
If only life were so cut, dry, and simple. Easy, yes so easy to say...
Oh, but then it must be put into action. I already have my CDL. It is a known fact that after acquiring a CDL, there is a time window during which companies will hire a recent graduate. After 90 days, the number of companies dwindles. So, I wait a few more months so that I only have one accident in the last 3 years, none at fault. Now all I have done is traded one issue for another. The same companies saying no right now will say no then, only for a different reason. Not so simple as one would like it to be.Another Canadian driver and ZVar Thank this. -
You didn't put the bite on him, drain a pint?Another Canadian driver and Frank Speak Thank this.
