Honey and I are almost finished CDL school and I am a bit nervous about the timing of transitioning between our current job (bird in hand) VS our new job (carrier yet to be determined) Any advice on the best case scenario to transition between one job to the next?

The trucking job you will be app. to will CK. back with the old job, so a good ref. will be needed.

Most times you aren't "hired" till you're practically assigned to your first load.

Try to close the gap as much as possible, or reserve cash flow.

By close the gap, do you mean take vacation days? We both have saved our PTO and have both received glowing reviews from our current jobs. We both work for the same large company and have a solid work history. A work reference would go through HR and it should be good.

Once to are approved it will take a week for orientation. From getting their to getting a trainer if needed. Some drivers have been sent home waiting for a trainer, and blairandgretchen is right you are not hire till the give you the keys and load to your truck.
