I made a mistake in Truck Driving. No one can agree with that sentence .
I, ONCE, in MY "early GREEN Trucking days" paid someone at a receiver, $150.00 to unload -my+ 53' Dry Van. Nothing special happened and there was no again.
    - ALL TRAILERS were mine until the LAST Trailer was sight side gashed-n-dropped.+

$200 is a cheap price to pay to get unloaded after your ####up.
Some places charge more than that if you show up late, and the company keeps it.

exactly, an appointment is supposed to be kept.PERIOD.

hopefully the o/p learnt something....HONOR the times, and READ the paperwork more than ONCE to confirm times.

now that's $200 that he'll have to make up.

and some o/o's wonder why they ain't making no money.....

I showed up for my 4am apt on Monday at Amazon warehouse. Rate con showed 4am as well. Guard tells me it’s next Monday at 7am. 7 days later. Was unable to get a newer apt. (This is Dallas, I live in San Antonio).

Ended up deadheading home and enjoy the week. There’s very little options you really have. Broker was JB hunt and best I got was $2500 extra. And I had to fight all 7 days to get that. Ended up threatening to leave trailer at storage yard at $125/day with no guarantees when I would be free to deliver. It got nasty and always does.

In this case you are the one who messed up. I would find a place to drop trailer and rent another for 2 weeks.

Ahh yes he better be #### sure he’s one time so he can sit in a dock for 6 hours before they touch his trailer.

isn't it better to BE THERE and maybe wait LESS than 6 hours, and get in ASAP, when they have room to fit him in..??

or wait several days, and pony up $200 cash....???

he's an o/o (i imagine since he posted in an o/o thread), and he should run his business professionally rather than haphazardly....

this is how "some" o/o's go out of business, as they simply do not run the truck like a business, but rather a rolling vacation.

You're the definition of a troll. Go away. The guy comes here asking for honest advice and perhaps a little sympathy from his only peers that would understand and this is what you give him? Dude, I'd hate to be your kid. I'm sure trucking always went perfectly for you without a hitch.

I all of a sudden have more respect for the scumbag brokers I've worked for this week than you. You're welcome.
