Tri-State Motor Transit TSMT, real driver review.

I have also started pro-TSMT threads. It’s important to know the good and the bad. I will tell you that we made a lot of money with TSMT last summer with our own truck. I just think there are better opportunities for company driver teams willing to run hard without risking your health and being a rolling target for DOT with 8 Hazmat placards on the trailer. It is a good gig for O/Os who don’t mind toxic waste and northern Quebec loads in December.

 

Hauling DOD explosives loads team used to pay 2k plus per driver per week in the 1990s until TSMT came along and bought out everybody. Now they pay 1100 wk guaranteed. Linehaul LTL team pays wife and I 2k each a week and we get 2 full days off a week and home every night for 3 to 4 hrs. Explosives teams today should be paid way more.

 

i make anywhere from 1750-2000 a week at wm. if i got to poop then i just stop and poop. seems like alot of hoops for 1300 a week

That sounds like a ton of paperwork, hassles, and such for not so great pay.

It’s average pay for company teams, great pay for O/O if you can avoid UPS and toxic waste loads. If your goal is to haul arms and ammo it’s a great place to start.

What companies would you recommend for HW teams that want to run hard?

 

TSMT is running hard if you add in all the babysitting time you have to do on explosives. Old Dominion is great if you love driving. R&L carriers is another good one.
