The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit(ISPCMVU) recently nabbed a commercial vehicle driver for a major equipment violation.

On Monday, October 28, ISPCMVU took to social media to highlight a traffic stop that uncovered a potentially dangerous equipment failure.

While following this truck and trailer a couple days ago, it did not take long for our CMVU Trooper to realize the truck wasn’t sitting quite right. Upon inspection, it was discovered the frame had completely broke on one side. Thankfully it was stopped before more damage or a crash occurred!” Iowa

The driver is unequivocally a darn fool to say the least..you can obviously tell the driver does no inspections of equipment at all because how can you not see that??..

farmers don’t care. I’ve driven them with no floorboards rusted out, a metal folding chair as a driver seat, and they give a tarp strap for a seat belt.
windshield falls in from rotten cab,. Here’s some safety google to keep bug from hitting you in the eyes.

Funny this was posted. At the truck show we had a few weeks ago I overheard a couple guys who are big into doing frame stretches and using Pete cut-off’s on Kw’s and other makes. Them guys were in a pretty heated conversation about how many cracked frames they been finding and having to scrap when they get into a project with the low air leaf’s.

One thing I will never understand about farmers is how unprepared a lot of them are. A lot will wait until 2 weeks before seeding or harvest to even look at their equipment. Then they panic when parts are a week out, their combine needs 40 hours of work and every shop is booked up solid.

Down here in our climate farming is a nine month job so equipment don’t sit long. Grain harvest just finished up a couple weeks ago but plow overs and hay is still being cut as we speak. Lots of bales are headed north.

Seeding usually starts around March/April and harvest around September here.

Depending on demand for corn some families have been doing two rounds a year down here. Cotton in our area has pretty much gone away. It is much more prevalent in the coastal bend area. Texas A&M has figured out a way to make things grow down here without irrigation water or rain fall.
