I am about a year out from retiring after 20 years in the Army and going to sign up for the Troops to Truckers program. I am using the Military Waiver to obtain my CDL here in the next few months just to get the ball rolling.
My question is... I have just been researching around and looking in being a trucker and I see some of these companies require a credit and background check. The background check I am not concerned about as I have a Secret Clearence. My concern is my credit is not so good after falling on some hard times a few years back. Is this going to significantly give me an issue getting employed in the trucking industry? Any advice is appreciated.

Credit checks? Don't worry about it, I wouldn't say it doesn't happen but it never happen to me. Unless you're trying to lease a truck then yes.
Big Swig and Birdman803 Thank this. -
Nothing to worry about. No credit check required. There ain't a trucker out here with good credit, lol.

A&R Logistics recognizes military driving. It's good company and you will make between $62K - $72K.
