Yes, I started out with my 1st truck and the dealer knew something was wrong with my truck... "but for only $1000 this TruNorth policy will cover you". So from Vegas to West Texas. It ran ok deadheading. Then after the 1st load told on engine problems... dealer says ONE Injector is bad, but Volvo RECOMMENDS REPLACING ALL 6...TruNada decides they don't have to do what the maker of the truck recommends. After days of haggling with them, sent photos to prove damaged injector. They finally gave in after Volvo shoved the truth down they're threats with a written statement. Ouch!!! Shame on the thieves I paid money to...

I just checked out his thread.
This is a perfect example of the "room to be unlucky" I mentioned above. It's a case of X causing Y and Z and them only paying for X, just like they said they would. I feel bad for him but there's a difference between an unfortunate situation and "getting screwed." He also said that "they are paying 11k+ towards this work" so apparently they're covering part of it.

So the "thieves" paid for all the injectors after Volvo explained why it was necessary. What's there to be mad about?

My last repair was the injectors. The story starts with the fuel pump going out. Trunorth paid $7k to fix that. The mechanics took it for a long test drive and everything was fine. 24 hours later the injectors went out. Trunorth hadn't closed the claim for the fuel pump yet and the mechanics mentioned in an email that the injectors had now went out. Trunorth assumed (reasonably) that the issues were related, denied the injectors part of the claim and closed the ticket. However the shop told me that these failures were unrelated, coincidence, unlucky timing and that the fuel pump issue didn't cause the injector issue. They were able to prove it too.

I asked Trunorth to reconsider the issues as separate after explaining what I was told. They asked for some pictures from the mechanics and they paid $5k to have the injectors replaced. The process was smooth.

Had the injectors failed because of the fuel pump issue, I would have had to pay the $5k. I would have considered myself unlucky but that's not Trunorth's fault.

My problem with TruNorth is that the warranty says BOTH that they do cover failures due to failures of other covered components, AND that they do not. At least that was the interpretation they were reading into the document.

What I could read in that same document was pretty clearly stating that they DO cover cascade failure of covered parts, but would not cover failures due to excessive degradation caused by poor maintenance. Obviously, they read their interpretation into it rather than mine. This is simply an example of aftermarket warranty asshattery and should be expected by anyone choosing to buy a aftermarket warranty from TruNorth.

Bought a tru north warranty. Worthless! The main excuse they used automatically kills the warranty on any kenworth or peterbilt. Kiss your money good buy. Started talking to attorneys on a class action lawsuit. Hope it goes somewhere. This comes needs to be shut down.

Not sure about your specific situation but I do know they HAVE TO HONOR GOOD PAPER BREAKDOWNS. Meaning, if it's in writing that they "cover it" and the mechanic is showing you "on paper this is the problem", you've got em. They have to pay up!!! My example was one bad injector, then Volvo dealership said, "VOLVO recommends, to change ALL INJECTORS NOW"! They wouldn't do/pay it, till the mechanic came up with a paper (from Volvo I guess, coulda made it himself, lol) iT said, VOLVO SAYS DO ALL OR NONE! They paid it!!! :) All injectors changed out & paid by the rippers.

I believe TruNorth is running a scam. When I filed a claim for a necessary EGR replacement, they denied it, leaving me to foot the $5,800 bill for the repair. After the repair was completed and everything seemed fine, I soon encountered another issue with the BPV, which triggered error codes. Upon taking the truck to MHC Kenworth in Omaha, Fernando provided a dubious excuse and attempted to gaslight me and MHC by blaming the BPV issue on an improper repair. However, when I took the truck back to MHC Olathe, they determined that the issue was not caused by an improper repair. Subsequently, they resubmitted the claim to Fernando at TruNorth, who eventually approved it. As the repairs were nearing completion, Fernando breached the approval by claiming that we had driven the truck too far, despite having already approved the work. This left me out of pocket by another $8,100. In total, between paying for the claims and the warranty, I am now out $21,000. I caution others not to fall victim to this warranty scam. In the past, I have had positive experiences with NTP Warranty and highly recommend them. My advice is to steer clear of TruNorth, as they could lead to financial ruin and offer zero integrity. Please exercise caution and consider alternative warranty providers.
