I should last up to a year....
I don't really have much faith in getting that 10Gs...LOL or even that the Paycheck Protection Plan would apply to me... so I will probably keep running even for as little as 1.5 on all miles, with perhaps much less frequency, but anything that can help to prolong that 1 year buffer.
At the beginning of this o/o venture I was leased on and running up 150K per year and averaging about 1.5 per all miles. I was able to clear over 90-100K per year. It was at the cost of the odometer miles and my health.
So I am thinking as long as I can go out there for 6-7 days and clear 1500 - 2000 after fuel/tolls, I will do it. Maybe not week after week but I would like to secure at least 4000 - 5000 per month.
I mean, is there an alternative? I will not sit and wait for better times until I have no more money on hand.Last edited: Apr 5, 2020

if the lockdown goes a year we'll know for sure they're after much more than virus protection.

The problem is, as some predict, that lots of businesses won't be able to bounce back to their pre lock down levels, even if they were to lift it now...that they will be wiped out from the business map for good, if they are not already. I would hope different but I can see it being possible, if they are unable to pay their rents, equipment leases, property taxes, retain employees, etc. A few weeks of lost revenue and no more factory, or no more restaurant, or a hotel....
I do hope that this is hibernation mode only and most of them will be able to resume business as usual.clausland, PPLC, Dino soar and 1 other person Thank this. -
Left the house this afternoon to get up to the Portland area, which is my custom when I have an earlier morning appointment. Mine is at 0530.
I usually go up to the Baldock Rest Area in Aurora. Never any problem with finding a spot to park in their huge 2 lot area for trucks. The place is PACKED with trucks and cars. Not one open spot before 7:00 p.m..
The I-5 is teeming with cars and trucks going in both directions.
So much for:
STAY HOME
SAVE LIVES
Covid-19
There's no evidence of a lockdown out here, believe me.Last edited: Apr 6, 2020

I'm heading up to Portland Tuesday morning after a pickup in the central valley. I just make a reservation now at Central Point, Rice Hill or Aurora, and don't bother trying to find an empty spot. Everything is packed. The PNW is a virtual dead zone for outgoing freight right now. If I didn't have customers up there already, I'd be in some other part of the country. If my inbound loads heading that way dry up, I may DH up early and snag some local loads before my regular loads south are ready to move.
clausland and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
They are all traveling to Central Point.PPLC Thanks this.
