Is there an FMCSA or OSHA requirement for this sign on any CMV?

No, there is not a FMCSA or OSHA regulation stating a vehicle needs to be marked with Fire Extinguisher Inside. It used to be required years ago by a number of states, but has since changed. Many carriers still mark the door the extinguisher is behind voluntarily so a third party at an accident scene would know where to locate it.
Truck Number Placement, is there a regulation I need to follow?

I have the truck number on because sometimes the crane operator at a mill will look for that truck number to load. As far as the Vin and KYU number, I have neither on the truck and I've had no problem in either CO nor KY, and KY is a regular throughway.

FMCSR 379.21 clearly states -
“Credit card number with highest limit shall be displayed , along with expiration date and CVV code, visible from 400 feet.” -
I have just co name and us dot only ...for cleaner look
T.Rucker Thanks this. -
The only thing you must have is the DOT number. However, you will need to have some sort of number for each tractor and trailer you own for your equipment list that FMCSA requires but it doesn't have to be physically on the equipment itself. Also, IRP/IFTA will need some sort of number too. I'm like you, I don't put any numbers physically on my equipment.

Put the truck and trailer numbers where it’s easy for shippers and receivers to see at their shacks. It’ll save you from having to tell them every time.
or make them super small and hide them somewhere they’d never look to drive them insane.
